Information on the engines is pretty poor actually - looked high and low for reliable info. Also just to answer an earlier question, both the 85PS and 105 PS 1.2 TSI engines are 8v.
The same thing in Finland with Yeti 1.2 TSI. Problems do occur. The "yellow engine light " was on for one week right from the first start from the car shop. After two weeks a software update was installed, and the yellow engine light was again on and also the yellow "EPC" light turned on. So now two warning lights are constantly on.
Please do some research into VW TSi engines before taking the plunge. I was put off a Yeti by the problems on the earlier 1.8. They are forever modifying the timing chain setup, and due to their long life intervals many of these engines never bed their piston rings in properly and after 60,000 miles or so really start burning through their oil.
Now, I would like to take forum member's opinion to rate these engines on 1. Reliability 2. Fuel efficiency 3. Power/Torque output 4. Dynamics (like weight for example, Ecoboost engine weighs more could be due to the metal used in the engine - Cast Iron) 5. The 1.2 Tsi is a fine engine and a VERY popular choice throughout the Vag range. I researched it well before buying mine and in comparison to the vast number out there, the engine is sound and reliable. All engines have their "Friday models"
